Micromuseum: This is life (2023)
This is life: Graphic Design from Mexico
This project brings together examples of graphic arts from Mexico's past and present to examine the development of this field over the last century and its role in popular culture. “Micromuseo RRD” is an installation that presents a series of miniature models, drawings, and paintings that narrate the grand and heroic story of how RRD joined the “Vicente Guerrero Saldaña Union of Magazines, Books, and Back Issue Vendors.” The vendors' union has been working independently for more than three decades in Mexico City. This piece compiles archival materials and recreates parts of its history through small-format sculptures. At the back of this installation is an alphabetical crossword puzzle that alludes to this history.
