¡El móndrigo! Logbook of the National Strike Council (2018)
David Escobar Parra y Adriana M. Pineda
With a quick search for references, it is easy to confirm that El Móndrigo! is one of several books written by various authors from government offices, a novel prepared using the archives of the Federal Security Directorate (DFS).
This, like others, is part of the political representation practices of that elite determined to remain in power; literary devices of the official narrative constructed with diverse narratives according to the different audiences they are aimed at, with the common goal of creating and directing public opinion, justifying and legitimizing, as well as influencing social consent for their repressive practices: constructing the social imaginary that introjects control.
This project attempts to reveal and reflect on the forms of control used by those in power to the present day. The construction of a narrative, the book as a device, and the form of distribution used by the government at the time—it appeared in universities, libraries, bookstores, and on car windshields—are strategies that are replicated in this 5th edition. A way of symbolically vindicating the students' struggle: the restructuring of the symbols and spaces won in the war of ideas and words.
