SITAC XV: The End | El fin will explore the successive "deaths" of the image and representations of violence. The fifteenth edition of the International Symposium on Contemporary Art Theory (SITAC), which coincides with the 20th anniversary of this meeting, has curator and filmmaker Jesse Lerner and artist Ruben Ortiz Torres as guest directors and will be entitled The End | El fin.

The title of this edition alludes, on the one hand, to the successive declarations of death that have been made of the means of image production and representation such as painting, photography and film. In this sense, the reflection on these technologies and their possibilities will be extended to video and the digital image. On the other hand, the relationships between the forms of image production and the different forms of violence in the current era will be explored: from the use of these media by those who commit crimes, through the role of the media, to the way in which digital technologies have mediated our forms of representation in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
